I am writing to you this evening with some news regarding Vettes at Waterside District. After the briefing from the Governor today, it has been decided to postpone our Vettes at Waterside District Event. The closer we get to May, the more it looks like it will take some time before things are normal again. I have been able to communicate with our entire BCC board tonight and have also spoken with Wes at Hendrick’s Chevrolet and we have decided to move our date to mid summer. The new date for 2020 Vettes at Waterside District is going to be July 10 and 11. Waterside District has locked us in for those dates.
Everything else will be the same as before we will simply move to those dates. We will still host the Friday evening “Meet & Greet” and we will still park Corvettes on Saturday. If you have already registered and you are good with the new dates, you don’t need to do anything. If the new date does not work for your schedule, your registration will be refunded.
We have some additional details to work out like notifying our vendors, changing Eventbrite and notifying the clubs and people that received our mass email. Those things will be addressed in the next few days. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 757-651-0462. The Beachcombers Corvette Club and Rick Hendrick Chevrolet of Norfolk proudly announce the return of “Vettes at Waterside District”, Norfolk’s newest dining and entertainment complex on the Elizabeth River. Once again, Corvettes will line the riverfront promenade on Saturday, May 30, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Participation in this unique Corvette gathering is limited to the first 120 pre-registered Corvettes, “Do Not Delay” register before the event is sold out.

Festivities start on Friday, May 29, Evening, our "Meet & Greet" from 5:30 - 7:00 PM. There will be hor d'oeuvres, a free drink coupon, and "Happy Hour" prices, with 10% discounted food and drinks all weekend. "Meet & Greet" will be held inside Waterside District. After happy hour, Dinner and Social time with fellow Corvette owners.
Saturday is a fun day of relaxation and socialization at Waterside District. Corvette check-in starts at 9:00 AM which includes individual photos of your vehicle and personalized event dash plaques. Due to pedestrian traffic on the riverfront promenade, all cars must be parked by 10:00 am and remain in place until 4:00 pm. This is not a judged show.
There is lots to do at Waterside District and throughout the general downtown area.
Numerous activities are also available within walking distance: enjoy a cruise aboard the "American Rover" around the Norfolk Harbor (https://www.americanrover.com) visit the nautical museum "Nauticus" and the historic Battleship "Wisconsin" (https://nauticus.org) or take in a "TIDES" baseball game (https://www.milb.com/norfolk), go shopping in MacArthur Mall (.https://www.shopmacarthur.com/).
