Reminder 10/24: Combined CCR Cruise, Blue Mountain Brewery, “Leaf Peeping Cruise”, via Afton VA, to Smith Mountain Lake Mountain Lake at Mariners Landing Resort, Huddleston, Virginia overnight, November 6 & 7 of November.
Three (3) options are available for those “adventurous CCR members” to choose from for this CCR cruise event(s). The options are in 3 separate emails options, from which to choose as listed below.
Option 1) Cruise early morning (8:00 am) Saturday 6th, at 8:30 am leave from the WAWA, Route 288 and Broad Street to the Blue Mountain Brewery, Afton VA arrive by 10:30 am, later travel from Afton VA to New London VA, on to Smith Mountain Lake and Mariners Landing Resort in Huddleston VA, dinner at the Landing Restaurant at 6:30 and spend Saturday night November 6th.
There are no reservations, just open seating available at the Blue Mountain Brewery, seating is on first come basis. However, I will let the manager know CCR is are coming, so there will be no surprise when we do arrive. The restaurant opens at 11:00 am.
Option 2) Cruise to Blue Mountain Brewery and then return home by a route of your choice. The start time is 8:30 am, same as above, at WAWA Rt 228 and Broad Street. Need to be at the Blue Mountain Brewery by 10:30 am.
Option 3) Cruise direct to Smith Mountain Lake, Mariners Landing Resort, meeting the rest of the CCR Cruisers, for dinner, and return home Saturday evening or spend the night a Mariners Landing. You will need a reservation for a room if you stay.
CCR needs to determine how many members will be making the cruise to the Blue Mountain Brewery, and/or Smith Mountain Lake, Mariners Landing Resort, November 6 & 7, 2021.
CCR sign-up is only online, by selecting your choice of option. There are 3 separate email options sent to your email address to choose from.
If you are planning to stay the night at Mariners Landing and/or have dinner at the Landing, they require proof of vaccination, either by the actual card or as picture on your cell phone.
All members are to make their own room reservations at the Mariners Landing resort. The resort will have a list of CCR members planning to guarantee their reservations. If you change your plans you will need to cancel your own reservation. Please check their Cancellation Policy, as it has a penality.
In the past some members have decided to room together in the the larger suites and share the cost of the room.
There is a very short time to the cutoff date of October 25, 2021, so sign-up online with CCR and then make your reservation with Mariners Landing. Sign-up on the CCR website as to your option 1, 2, or 3 so we can have an accurate count.

Proposed Travel, I64, 250, 151, 450 and turn left at New London to Smith Mountain Lake, Mariners Landing Resort. Travel time, Afton VA to Smith Mountain Lake is approximately 2 1/2 hours or 109 miles in the mountains. Route maps will be provided and main addresses also provided.
If certain club’s members want to do a lottery{s}, that’s great, but departure times will not be delayed. The group going to Brewery and then on to Smith Mountain need to get there before dark to enjoy the drive in the mountains. Dinner is set for at 6:30 pm in the Landing Restaurant within the hotel.
