CCR Cruise to Tim’s Crabhouse

Mineral VA,  October 22, 2022

OD’s – Carr & Rhodes

Cruise to Tim’s Crabhouse was a first-time event for the Corvette Club of Richmond.  However, some members had stopped there in the past, but not as an event for entire club. The Cruisers secretly met behind the McDonalds on Patterson Drive starting around 1:00pm with a departure time of 1:45pm, giving everyone making the cruise a chance to socialize, and purchase their cherished 50/50 raffle tickets, a rest stop prior to leaving for Tim’s at 1:45

When leaving we has 18 Corvettes, 35 members making the cruise on a beautiful fall day on a “no hurry” cruise to the restaurant, just north of Mineral, under the lead command of Bubba Carr. The caravan was able to stay pretty much together for the whole cruise. When we arrived at our expected time of 3pm, the Corvettes found spaces that had been conned and tape off for their parking.  Then it was learned that Mr. Danny Terry was having issues with transmission linkage.  Repairs were discussed and possible solutions discussed, but that would have to wait as more important issues needed to be addressed, “food”.

The restaurant and staff where well prepared and escorted the hungry Cruisers to an area held for us to eat in small table groups, but still able to have conversations with other members present.  Drinks and food orders taken immediately, and the socializing started again but grew quite once the food started to arrive at the tables.  Later, the 50/50 drawing was completed with Tim Maloy, Duane’s brother  having the winning ticket.

Once the Cruisers were leaving the “CCR Pit Crew” sprang into action, acquiring  needed help from the restaurant staff to provide a jack and jack stands to lift one side of Mr. Danny Terry’s C6, to force the transmission into a forward gear, in order that the C6 could be driven back. The C6 made it back to CMA-Heritage to be housed until Monday when repairs could begin.  Mr. Terry was quite fortunate they were still open, as the C6 need to put inside their shop since the convertible top could not be put up.

Many of the Cruisers have stated that this cruise to Tim’s should be put on the Events List for next year.  Base on conversations by many members that could easily happen.  All said it was a great event, and attendees got to witness the “CCR Pit Crew” in action once again, with all finding their way back to home base.

HALLOWEEN FUN!

Don and Corrine Czyzewski having fun with his Corvette during Halloween. Corrine and I made our satin wrapped Corvette look like an evil shark with red eyes and an evil growl. The neighborhood kids went crazy over it and their excitement was only surpassed by their parents. I never thought we could have so much fun with a key FOB and an animal’s sound app.
