“Corvette Cruise” for Saturday, September 11, 2021

Trojan Grill

11833 Aspengraf Lane, New Kent, VA

Join us for a cruise to mark the 20th anniversary of the attacks on 9/11, to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and to celebrate freedom in our great country!  I put together this patriotic playlist if you want to listen during the drive:

You are invited to share stories or memorabilia about your 9/11 experience.

Restaurant Details:  We will have lunch together at the Trojan Grill, which is on Route 249 and next to New Kent High School The menu is available on their web page

https://www.thetrojangrill.com/

When we visited the restaurant in August, we learned of their policy not to provide hard copy menus and require customers to order from their smart phones.  I highly recommend you download a QR scanning app, such as

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.camvision.qrcode.barcode.reader&hl=en_US&gl=US

onto your smart phone.  We will also print and bring a few menus and plan to assist those who are not comfortable ordering from phones.

Route Details:  We’ll meet at 11:00 am at the same place we met for the Captain Billy’s cruise, behind the Burger King at Atlee Station Road & Chamberlayne Road (Route 301).  We’ll be in the adjacent office building’s parking lot so that we do not interfere with Burger King’s parking.  After taking roll, selling some 50/50 tickets, having a brief drivers’ meeting, we will depart at 11:30, heading north on Route 301.

The drive will take about an hour, and you can drive home by whatever route you would like.

Here is a link to the route and directions we will follow:  https://goo.gl/maps/uY9nqd1Hy7r18eJQ7

There are two left turns where we may become separated, but we have 10 miles on Old Church Road to get back together.  The first left turn is onto Pole Green Road from Rural Point Road, and the other is the left turn onto Mechanicsville Turnpike from Pole Green Road.  After we turn right onto Old Church Road from Mechanicsville Turnpike.

This is a “rain or shine” event.  If the weather is bad or you have more guests than seats in your car, then feel free to drive your OTCs (Other Than Corvettes).

Please register early so that we can provide the restaurant with a somewhat accurate head count.

We hope you will join us!
